Shop Technician
TerraSond, a precision geospatial solutions provider based in Palmer, Alaska is seeking a Shop Technician. Under the direct supervision of the Equipment Manager, the Shop Technician is responsible for participating in the maintenance, mobilization, demobilization, and inspection of TerraSond vessels, vehicles, equipment and facilities in order to meet TerraSond’s needs. Responsibilities include performing welding and fabrication tasks to customize and repair mounts and winches. He or she also repairs and maintains or oversees repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, ensuring all are properly maintained and serviced in accordance with maintenance schedules. Other tasks include running errands with company vehicles, forklift operation, snow removal, and ensuring office and shop areas are safe and clean.
This position is a full time hourly position based in Palmer, Alaska and requires some travel. Position requires residence within a reasonable commuting distance to the Palmer office. Relocation assistance is not offered.

Work is performed in a number of locations including TerraSond’s office, shop, and various field locations. Some work is performed outdoors and may take place in inclement weather. Requires occasional heavy lifting of equipment (up to 50 pounds). Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, long days, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines.
