The Associate Director is a key member of the CWEL Management team and contributes to the development of Center strategy, thought leadership, and evolution of the mission. The Associate Director designs, delivers, and evaluates all CWEL undergraduate, graduate, campus-wide, and external programs to meet CWEL’s mission to execute innovative programming that is underpinned by pedagogy, accessible to students and the broader Babson community. These high-visibility, high impact programs differentiate Babson and the CWEL at the intersection of gender, entrepreneurship, leadership and education and include the undergraduate Women’s Leadership Scholars Program; the Women Innovating Now (WIN) Lab; the Babson Association of Women MBA’s (BAWMBA) programs; cross campus WEL and Gender-related events; mentor programs; and all external events and initiatives related to women entrepreneurial leaders. The Associate Director serves as a liaison to key internal partners and external partners.

• Designs and delivers a wide array of internal and external programs that fulfill the Center’s strategic objective to deliver high impact, mission aligned signature learning experiences focused on women’s entrepreneurial leadership, gender enlightenment, and professional development,.
• Works with the Executive and Faculty Directors to create and implement the student-programs strategy and build the internal and external relationships needed to execute that strategy.
• Partners with Babson student leaders, groups, and community colleagues across the undergraduate and graduate levels (i.e., Admissions, all centers, Office of Diversity; Center for Career Development, Campus Life, other academic Centers, and all academic divisions) to facilitate recruiting, outreach, coordination of programming, the leveraging of opportunities, resources, and relationships, and to identify new opportunities for CWEL student program value propositions. Makes recommendation to Executive and Faculty Directors as a result of these conversations.
• Initiates and maintains CWEL’s internal sponsorship of campus initiatives towards the creation of a gender-balanced campus.
• Prepares and manages program related CWEL budget accounts and makes recommendations to the Executive Director regarding expenditures.
• Oversees and advises CWEL scholar program coordinator. Leads all CWEL graduate student initiatives and serves as the CWEL liaison to the Babson Association of Women MBA’s (BAWMBA) and their leadership team.
• Manages Boston WIN Lab operations including: admissions, programming, events, stakeholder management, sponsors, all site operations, and special events. Coordinates any contract or student labor associated with the event.
• Serves as Project Manager of Babson Breakaway operations including: sponsorship, programming, and event details. Coordinates any contract or student labor associated with the event. Serves as liaison to all internal and external stakeholders.
• Serves as the liaison for external program partners such as the City of Boston, Mass Challenge, She Starts, and Center for Women and Enterprise; identifies opportunities for new external partner collaboration; builds stakeholder relationships; designs, executes, and evaluates high impact, mission aligned partner programming. Identifies, recruits, and manages relationships with expert speakers, including compensation and contract terms as required.
• Develops systematic approach to assessing student programming, creating Continuous Quality Improvement process which includes obtaining primary data from students regarding programs’ value and impact, recommending changes to existing programs, and piloting new programs to meet students’ needs.
• Oversees and coordinates the creation and distribution of all student program related marketing and outreach materials. Schedules and coordinates photography and videography of student programs, and promotes student programs through all available social media outlets.
• Works with Assoc. Director, Outreach & Communications to assure effective PR, marketing, and outreach campaigns for all external programs.
• Creates a living archive of all CWEL activities and initiatives that documents the CWEL value proposition for students, prospective students, and alumni. These documents provide data for program evaluation and evolution.
• Contributes to the overall thought leadership efforts of the CWEL in the form of blogs, social media, public appearances and research articles. Represents CWEL and Babson in external programs and events including national and international forums.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

Minimum Level of Education Required Master’s Degree
Position Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Requirements:

• 6-8 years of experience in program management
• 2+ years higher education experience including teaching and/or training
• Previous experience with gender and women’s entrepreneurial leadership programming
• 3-5 years’ experience in women’s startup or entrepreneurship setting
• Passion for an entrepreneurial environment
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of social constructions of gender and implications for higher education and business communities.
• Abreast of current trends in Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership, entrepreneurship and Gender and implications for CWEL initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to design, deliver, and evaluate co-curricular and business community relevant education programs.
• Outstanding organization & project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
• Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate.
• Strong marketing and customer service skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal formats including high visibility situations such as keynote speaking, media relations, and panel moderation.
• Ability to establish creditability and confidence with stakeholders.
• Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, and the ability to be effective engaging with all levels within the college and the business ecosystem.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants.
• Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide colleagues from across the campus when necessary.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in working with internal constituents such as diverse student body, faculty, and staff, and external constituents such as strategic partners, stakeholder groups and volunteers.
Working Conditions:
• Working hours may vary. Requires nights/weekends and domestic/international travel.
• Valid unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License, with an insurable (as determined by the College’s insurer’s criteria) or a satisfactory driving record; must successfully complete and pass the College’s vehicle training program within the first 60 days of employment; annual or more frequent review of employee’s driving record based on the College’s criteria; and safety training as required by management.
• Requires independent, off-site work.

Additional Experience, Skills & Abilities:
• Prior experience with program development in academic environment preferred.
