Program Advisor, TRiO Student Support Services in the Student Academic Success Center unit. Full time 10-month/academic year grant-funded position. Reports to the Director of TRIO Student Support Services.

Applicants are required to have an earned master's degree in education or related field, and at least one year of relevant experience, preferably in a higher education setting from an accredited institution. The candidate must have: demonstrated understanding of academic program planning and advising developmental theory with related experience; strong communication and organizational skills; and an understanding of and preference for collaborative approaches to planning and problem solving.
Preference will be given to candidates who have the following: experience working in a college setting support program with at-risk students and are familiar with needs of disadvantaged and returning adult students; and individuals who have succeeded in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the program's target population.
Salary: Salary is competitive and commensurate with background and experience.

- Assess academic needs of participants
- Provide career, academic, and personal advising to participants as needed
- Advise student participants in course selection
- Conduct workshops on study skills and personal growth issues
- Plan cultural and educational enrichment activities
- Assist in the training of student employees and supervise them on cultural event trips and at workshops, etc.
- Responsible for participating in the grant funds allocation process
- Assist in program evaluation and assessment reporting
- Other duties as assigned by unit administration
