Intelligence Operations Specialist - SV-0132-J - Transportation Security Administration - Newark, New Jersey - EXPIRED

This Intelligence Operations Specialist position is located in the Field Intelligence Branch, Current Operations Division, within the Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected for this position, you will serve as a Field Intelligence Officer (FIO), responsible for providing intelligence support and threat briefings to the TSA Federal Security Directors, their staffs, and security workforce. The FIO provides support at Category X airports requiring increased coordination and management of priorities. In addition, you will liaison with the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), state, local, and tribal law enforcement officials, and intelligence fusion centers. Typical assignments include but are not limited to:

• Serving as a principal technical advisor on intelligence procedures, methodology, techniques, and strategies.
• Developing high level briefs, recommending preventive actions, and using methods in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of real or potential security threats to or problems for program operations.
• Contributing to the preparation of detailed and complex studies, anticipating and solving problems; collecting, organizing, and interrelating large amounts of diversely formatted data drawn from a wide variety of sources.

To qualify for the SV-J Pay Band (equivalent to GS-14), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-I Band or GS-13 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience includes applying intelligence concepts, guides, and methodologies to analyze, review, coordinate, and advise on intelligence information to be shared; and experience critically evaluating sources of information and establish validity of facts.

National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

NOTE: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
