Position Description: The University of Iowa (UI) Libraries seeks an innovative, analytic, and accomplished professional for the position of Web Services Specialist in the Libraries’ Information Technology Department (LIT). The Web Services Specialist plays a key role in providing an outstanding library experience for the University’s students, faculty, and staff. This position works closely with Libraries’ staff and developer staff in LIT to build, modify, test, debug, manage, and troubleshoot web applications to improve the Libraries’ virtual user experience on a variety of platforms, including mobile devices.
Reporting to the Head of Library Information Technology, the Web Services Specialist provides primary web application support, working with staff throughout the Libraries to focus on services that improve the user experience and ensures the Libraries’ web presence complies with ADA accessibility guidelines. This position participates in needs assessment to provide user-centered solutions that reflect a thorough understanding of the University community’s library and research needs. Salary and appointment: Appointment will be made at the level of Application Developer at a salary in the range of $48,671 - $52,000. Start date is negotiable.
