Broad scope of the project is to understand anti-viral immunity mechanisms in C. elegans.

Identified genes involved in anti-viral immunity by performing a genome-wide RNAi screen.

Validated their involvement in immunity using different techniques like RT-qPCR, in situ hybridization.

Leading the research towards understanding the mechanism of the two genes by determining the potential pathways they play a role in.

Presented results from on going research as a poster at the International C. elegans Meeting, June 2011, UCLA, California.

Investigated the mechanisms of survival of the Salmonella in hosts so as to effectively eradicate it in the long run.
