Accounting Manager – Region
Temp to Perm: Duties entailed all accounting processes including operating results: actual, budget, and forecast. Two reports plus ongoing collaboration with intra-regional and corporate accounting, IT and regional management of operations throughout multi-year information services (IS) as well as application upgrades during massive corporate restructuring. Region coverage: Caribbean and Latin America exclusive of in-state offices located in Mexico, Argentina, Peru, and Brazil.
Process improvements while engaged in Restructuring
Challenge: Eliminate accumulated receivables, prohibit future uncollected and usage overages; resolved as follows:
- Increased efficiency and accuracy, expedited processes automating accounts receivable from Excel spreadsheets and templates to multi-user QuickBooksPro providing real time sales results, timely bank reconciliation as well as accurate revenue recognition adjustments--prior to day month-end close and enabled collections of overages as well as long overdue unpaid balances by end-users including sales reps prior to transacting a sale or contract renewal.
- Deployed COD policy including credit card processing expediting sales and eliminate recurrence of unpaid receivables.
- Conceived and proposed protocols to monitor customer usage automatically denying access eliminating overages which previously created outstanding receivables. Because of our innovations, protocols deployed throughout international division--D&B’s intra-network data base which includes Asia Pacific, Caribbean, and Latin America.
Cyclical duties:
- General ledger: accruals, deferrals, adjusting JE including revenue recognition, documentation supporting results
