DIRECTOR MARKETING AND PHILANTHROPY (2006–2009)
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, responsible for leadership of the Development Department and management of organization-wide development, marketing and fund-raising efforts including all donor relations and stewardship, community relations, media relations, event’s management, publications, donations of goods, volunteers, and board relations as it pertains to development/fund-raising.
CORPORATE AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS MANAGER (2004–2006)
Leader for the community and corporate relations areas including the organization’s event planning, corporate sponsorships, working with the development team on marketing and publications, volunteer efforts, and fund-raising activities. Wrote and distributed press releases, announcements and other communication materials. Established media relations and public relations strategies and goals for the entire organization.
Organizational Enhancements:
• Led the Development department in raising approximately $400,000 from individuals, churches, corporations, and foundations
• Develop, plan and manage highly successful social marketing campaigns and signature events increasing the corporate support more than 2500% in five years. Some of these events and campaigns include:
o The Purple Ribbon Campaign, a bilingual city-wide campaign created to raise awareness about domestic violence and increase financial support to victims of abuse in the Philadelphia area.
o The “Women of Courage: Women of Inspiration Awards” recognizing courageous Philadelphia-area women who have overcome incredible obstacles and made significant contributions in the areas of Adult Education, Domestic Violence, Senior Services and Homeless Services.
• Produce and distribute organizational newsletter, annual report, agency brochure and marketing materials to enhance public awareness of the organization and its services
• Serve as spokesperson to enhance the agency visibility and to promote the organization’s mission and services to the media and the community in general
• Forge strategic relationships through research and networking with high profile donors, corporations, foundations and local businesses that result in sponsorship and donations
