Specimen Processing
Responsibilities include the supervision of specimen processing and data entry personnel. Position requires maintaining staff by recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and the training of employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; and developing personal growth opportunities. Accomplishment of departmental goals and company expectations by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities also include the development of a positive image of the organization through department performance, establishing and maintaining communications with team members, management, and clients. Other responsibilities include receiving specimens from client and company remotes and preparing samples for analysis in an accurate and timely manner; collection of chain of custody drug screenings and blood samples via veinapuncture.
Phlebotomist
Responsibilities included specimen collection via veinapuncture, chain of custody drug screening, client services and the ability to work in emergency and high stress situations. Work experience also consisted of specimen collection from children and infants; and providing services to people in difficult situations. In March 2005, I accepted a supervisory position within the company.
