Accountant (internal) and Human Resources Representative
Continue to retain all job responsibilities noted below except direct management of operating divisions staff.

Director/VP-Operations (2004-January 2007)
Since 2004, manage the operating divisions and approximately 4-10 employees and independent contractors of a boutique international litigation support firm. Responsible for all aspects of corporate operations, including oversight of case management and management of staff in litigation support, video and graphics divisions. Ensure that staff completes projects in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.
Continue to retain all job responsibilities of the Director of Accounting,described below.
Simultaneously, manage the operations of European Ski Antiques, a corporate entity under common ownership as Advanced Courtroom Technologies, located in Truckee, CA.
Initiated and completed startup of company (Fall 2005).
Coordinate import of product from Europe.
Manage the day-to-day general operations, two employees, and all aspects of accounting operations.

Director of Accounting & Human Resources
Manage the day-to-day general accounting operations required to maintain the general ledger, balance sheet, and income statements. This includes responsibilities for accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, year end closing journal entries. Responsible for special reporting compliance (e.g., sales and use tax, worker’s compensation, employee retirement and health benefits). Responsible for managing the human resource department. Recruit, hire and train staff. Manage and act as liaison with income tax accountant, payroll vendor, benefits broker, and corporate and employment attorneys. Manage contract compliance for company (e.g., leases, customer trial contracts, employee and independent-contractor contracts).

Sprint Telecommunications Company, Kansas City, KS February 1998 – January 2000

Manager, Regulatory Access Planning, Long Distance Division.
Managed Sprint’s switched and special access costs; involved in regulatory proceedings, along with two other managers, which resulted in an annual savings in excess of $20 M.
Managed vendor relationships and access rates with BellSouth, SBC, and GTE.
Testified as an expert witness on access related issues in state regulatory hearings. Prepared testimony, comments, and presentations regarding access related issues. Aided legal staff in preparation of briefs and proposed orders.
Assisted in developing Sprint’s access policy.
Taught a two-hour class on access and regulatory related issues to internal clients.
Analyzed and forecasted the financial impact of federal price cap filings.
Member of industry coalition’s1 operational committee on interstate universal service and access reform. The purpose of the operational committee was to draft new federal rules to implement the industry coalition’s universal service and access reform proposal. In addition, the operational committee was responsible for revising price cap forms.
Responsible for interacting and supporting various business units including, External Affairs, Access Operations, Budgets, Long Distance Policy, Access Verification, Directional Planning, Decision Support, and Local Telecommunications Division Regulatory and Policy Groups.

Lead auditor responsible for reviewing the Southwestern Bell Telephone resale discount rate in Kansas and advising the commissioners about staff’s recommendations.
Administered the unbundled network element (UNE) cost docket. Coordinated efforts between consultant and Southwestern Bell Telephone.
Reviewed and analyzed information regarding State and Federal Universal Service. Assisted in the development, establishment, and administration of the Kansas Universal Service Fund (KUSF).
Reviewed and analyzed cost studies/models for UNEs, and filings for rate change requests for telecommunication and electric and gas companies. Performed detailed audit field work (i.e., enforcing statutory mandate and ratemaking principles/philosophy). Responsible for understanding plant and engineering issues, ensuring proper cost allocations, and applying cost study requirements and audit procedures. Developed findings and prepared staff testimony, memoranda, exhibits, and orders to document staff recommendations. Provided explanations, technical expertise, and analysis of parties’ positions to Staff counsel as requested. Filed testimony and testified as an expert witness.
Interpreted and enforced the Kansas Telecommunications Act, the Federal Telecommunications Act, state and federal regulations, and state and federal orders.
