Experience: Member of HOPE Charter School’s Leadership Team (Director of Student/Guidance Services/Director of the Special Education Department/Director of the Credit Recovery After-School Program): Responsible for the overall emotional, physical, and social welfare of at-risk high school students. This administrative position involved the supervision and training of social workers, nurse, workforce development coordinator, department administrative assistant, resolution room staff and coordinating the various aspects of the Special Education Department. In the absence of the principal, was responsible for carrying out duties related to this position. Other responsibilities included: overseeing the formulation of all Individualized Learning Plans; setting up a system of “at the table” reviews; through diagnosing and strategizing issues and factors that blocked learning; monitoring billing/revenues to assure that the school was operating according to the over $, allotted monthly revenue. As Director of the Special Education Department, I was responsible for the development of all policies and procedures related to the program and supervision of the staff. In this capacity, I reorganized the departmental format and developed a flow of documents that were well received by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Special Education.

Project Manager of Welfare-to-Work/Behavioral Health Initiative=s Alcohol and other Drugs Demonstration (AODD) Project: Responsible for the overall operation and administration of this . million dollar state-funded project. The project was designed to provide intensive case management and coordination services to clients receiving welfare whose concerns with drugs and alcohol created barriers to their employment and ability to obtain self-sufficiency.

Acting Director of Welfare-to-Work Initiatives for the Behavioral Health System of Philadelphia: Acted as a liaison between Philadelphia=s Behavioral Health System (which includes the Coordinating Office for Drug and Alcohol Abuse Programs, the Office of Mental Health and Community Behavioral Health) and Greater Philadelphia Works, the city’s Welfare-to-Work program. Ensured that appropriate city departments and provider agencies responded to the needs of Welfare-to-Work clients with behavioral health problems through various strategies that included cross-systems trainings, strategic planning and systems coordination.

Developed a Community Resource Guide, organized seminars for students and parents that focused on drug and alcohol abuse, career counseling, scholastic achievement and self-motivation.
