Consultant, Curriculum Development: to present, Carnegie Speech Company, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA


 


·        Responsible for  designing the curriculum of Iraqi Arabic and for providing explanation and consultation of how it works and differs from MSA (Modern Standard Arabic)


·        Provide complete lessons of Iraqi Arabic language including dialogues, cultural notes, vocabulary, grammar points with examples, pronunciations and show how it differs from MSA.


·        I do modal speaker recordings for all the Iraqi Arabic words, phrases, clauses and sentences.


·        Conduct weekly meetings with the people in the company and do consultations, explanation and suggestion for curriculum development and how to teach Iraqi Arabic or MSA intelligibly for non-native speakers of Arabic.


·        I do run testing for correcting the errors and mistakes done by the programmers.

·        Taught classes of Arabic I in Fall , with approximately - students each; teach one class of Arabic II, Spring , with approximately students.


·        Designed curriculum for Arabic language classes, utilizing various books for teaching MSA; employ, variety of teaching methods, including, CDs and DVDs to teach Arabic culture. I show them as well how the MSA differs from Arabic Dialects. Utilize cooperative learning techniques to teach effective speaking, reading, writing and listening skills.


·        Provide excursions to cultural events to expose students to Arabic movies, restaurants, cafes, conversations with Arabs and sharing with them the knowledge, culture, traditions, religion, etc.                                    


·        Course Objectives: The courses I\'m teaching are intended to considerably enrich my students\' vocabulary, improve their writing skills through the acquisition of grammar rules, and enable them to understand and converse accurately in Arabic.
