The DC Director is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift distribution center. In this position you will communicate the company vision, values, strategies and direction, as well as market strategy and initiatives, to a large DC staff. You will administer all functions to ensure timely accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, and the optimization of resources and processes while operating within budget. You will develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with company policies/procedures, continual process improvement and drive employee initiatives to create and promote an environment where employees are involved, empowered, and committed to the success of the Company.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in business, logistics, materials management or a related field of study with an MBA or advanced degree preferred
• 10 years previous high-level management experience in a high volume, multi-shift operation dealing with large employee populations.
• Strong financial management skills are a must.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive employee relations and effective relationships across functional boundaries, with customers, and with suppliers while driving business results.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, with the ability to deliver a clear message whether the audience is front line employees or senior executives.
• Experienced in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
• Strong experience in production and/or flow control
• Proven training skills at various organizational levels
• Ability to develop and maintain positive employee, customer and cross-functional team relations
• Ability to effectively promote and lead change
• Demonstrated critical thinking, process improvement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to drive results.
• Insure compliance with Company, OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations with particular emphasis on hazardous materials and power industrial equipment requirements.
*Position requires occasional travel to other DC’s, corporate offices, and field locations.
