At Sargento you'll be in a highly visible position in a company big enough to be a national brand leader but small enough for you to feel at home and let you make an impact.
As a key member of the CPD National Account sales team, the National Account Sales Manager manages the sales objectives and profitability of key regions, divisions and top Retailers within the National Account business team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Under the guidance of the Team Leader, contribute to the development of division plans that meet Sargento's corporate strategy.
• Execute division trade plans and corporate initiatives by optimizing customer support at multiple levels including headquarter and retail.
• Deliver on key Sargento sales initiatives, volume budgets and profit targets while operating within assigned trade spending budgets.
• Develop strong customer management skills by fostering sound business relationships involving cross functional departments.
• Analyze promotional effectiveness across key measures and prepare recommendations to maximize future business opportunities.
• Utilize comprehensive category management and consumer insight skills to strengthen Sargento’s thought leadership position within national account business.
• Effectively leverage and creatively utilize internal resources to resolve customer issues.
• Develop a solid critical thinking platform with the ability to problem solve utilizing financial analysis while streamlining processes.
• Effectively coach and motivate sales agency partners at multiple levels and with varying knowledge bases.
• Effectively penetrate all appropriate levels of decision makers at national accounts including executive management.
• Strong negotiation skills that demonstrate the ability to move from conflict to resolution.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required.
• 5+ years retail consumer products experience required
• Customer headquarter sales experience required
• Broker management experience preferred
• Advanced experience in using syndicated data
• Ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills with persons or groups at varying positions or knowledge.
• Prior sales experience in a capacity working with sales agencies involving cross functional departments.
• Previous experience in customer management developing business case presentations that identify profitable opportunities for future growth.
• Experience calling on National Account Customers is preferred.
• Demonstrate strong time management skills along with the ability to manage overlapping and even conflicting priorities.
• Possess the potential to progress to Team Leader or similar level position.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license. Must be able to travel.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Syndicated data analysis (Nielsen, IRI), Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), presentation skills.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive travel required.
