Description: JOB PURPOSE : Develops, implements and leads residential sales strategies for Cox as well as serves as a strategic partner in the overall operation of the organization. Achieves or exceeds growth and profit objectives by optimizing the sales of video, voice and data services to residential customers though multiple sales channels. Primary accountabilities include inbound call center sales, direct sales, retail sales partnerships and MDU housing units. Collaborates cross functionally, instills a competitive mindset and fosters new business development. JOB CONTENT / KEY RESULT AREAS: - Plans and directs the entire operation of the sales function for video, voice and data services to residential customers. - In this capacity receives and studies the companys marketing plan and generates a corresponding sales plan to drive Revenue Generating Unit (RGU) growth commensurate with strategies and tactics called for in the marketing plan. This plan will be revised and updated as subsequent new tactics are created and deployed by marketing, in conjunction with the Sales organization input and feedback. - Avenues for these sales include inbound call center, direct sales representatives, telemarketing contractors, retail and e-commerce strategies. All five of these sales channels and associated personnel are responsible to the Director of Sales. - Effectively takes advantage of the sales opportunities through development and management of an effective sales organization and continuous partnering with other groups within the company (such as the Audit team, Field Service, Quality, Bus Ops, etc.) to engage customers in buying Cox service or upgrading from existing products and associated service offerings. - Directs any deployment of an outside sales force employed to sell Cox products in residential communities and ensures that aggressive sales goals are set and achieved to support overall RGU growth objectives. - Leads the companys inbound and outbound telemarketing efforts and ensures that activity and revenue yields of telephone sales forces are consistent with or above standards set by the system for this activity, working closely on a month to month basis with the Director of Business Operations. - Directs the activities of the MDU acquisition rep charged with signing multiple dwelling unit properties and tract home developments, and ensures that sales and penetration goals established for these efforts are met or exceeded. - Ensures transaction costs related to RGU generation are within budget parameters and competitive for the activities sought in achieving aggressive sales goals. - Oversees and ensures the success of sales derived from retail activities, including the Cox Digital Store and partnerships such as Wal-Mart, Circuit City or Best Buy. - Proactively seeks out competitive intelligence and works with Marketing to create actionable response mechanisms - Reports results in a timely manner, analyzes and assesses output of various sales channels, and proposes and implements mid-course corrections and improvements to ensure ongoing success of connection activity, bad debt management and churn management. - Works proactively with other Sr. Team members to develop the annual budget and Long Range Plan for the System - Acts as a system role model for Leadership development in terms of mentoring, coaching and developing staff, as well as working cross functionally with peers on the Sr. Team. - Actively supports and communicates the Company vision and mission, strategies and is an advocate cross functionally for the goals and objectives of the system Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: - BS/BA or MBA preferred - 10 years of sales experience - Multiple years sales management experience - Deep understanding of sales incentive plans and comp structures - Experience with multiple sales channels (to include call center and some retail experience). - Experience on a Senior level leadership team responsible for overall business goals and objectives Company Profile: As the third largest cable provider in the nation, Cox Communications, Inc. is noted for its high-capacity, reliable broadband delivery network as well as the company's ability to provide superior customer service.
