Job Description: |
Description: This individual is expected to represent PDM on Discovery biotherapeutic project teams across multiple Therpaeutic Areas. The individual and her/his group will develop bioanalytical methods for biotherapeutics molecules in the Discovery portfolio and apply these to support PK, PD and IVT studies to characterize the disposition of these molecules. Bioanalytical methods may include immunoassay-based (ELISA, RIA, others), MS-based and other approaches. The individual will work with project teams and PK-PD specialists to design key PK and PK-PD studies and deliver data to advance molecules via critical milestones to Candidate nomination. This individual is expected to have experience in method development for biologics and expertise in PK/ADME science, preferably with biologics. This individual is responsible for guiding bioanalytical method development; training, directing, and supervising associate scientists in PK and PK-PD studies of biologics, ensuring rapid reporting and appropriate documentation of data to facilitate project momentum. This individual should be proficient in use of appropriate computer software for data acquisition, management and reporting. This individual will participate fully as the PDM representative on Discovery project teams, defining the PDM-critical elements of the project plans and driving these towards success. As appropriate, the individual should participate in external groups to project growing Pfizer expertise in the area of biologics ADME, including publishing scientific data/information. Close collaboration with the Biologicals Bioanalytical COE is expected. The individual is expected to provide scientific oversight for lab associates. Qualifications: EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: MINIMUM: MS or PhD or equivalent in Biological Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences Chemistry or related field DESIRABLE: PhD in Biological Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences Chemistry or related field WORK EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: MINIMUM: - Ph. D. with 3 ? 5 years of relevant experience or MS with 10 or more years of relevant experience. - Acknowledged expertise in PK/ADME science, preferably with some application to biologics. - Proficient in current technology used for biologics bioanalysis. - Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. DESIRABLE: Experience with development and characterization of bioanalytical methods for biologics and interpretation of bioanalytical data strongly preferred. Experience with laboratory automation and LIMS preferred. Previous experience working as lead in a project team setting preferred.
