Executive Director, Ecommerce, Atlanta, GA

As the leader of Coxs ecommerce strategy, this individual is responsible building, managing and leading the ecommerce efforts, including budget/ROI planning, goal setting, team development, accountabilities and performance. The ideal person is creative, collaborative and consultative, and able to work well across a large organization to build a scalable experience able to handle a growing percentage of the companys total sales. This person works in concert with the sales organization and the online experience team to evolve and drive the ecommerce process. He or she works also with the product-related teams to understand upcoming innovations to services so that they may be thoughtfully integrated into the online sales process as they are launched into the marketplace. The successful candidate is a team player, capable of partnering with many internal customers, and is a visionary and a thought-leading professional with the experience and established expertise to hit the ground running and architect/institute a strategic plan befitting the company.
1.Develop and champion a guiding vision for the ecommerce sales channel at all levels of the organization.

2.Direct the day-to-day online operations relating to ecommerce with oversight responsibility for key performance drivers and resulting operating metrics. (e.g. driving calls out of the call center)

3. Build, manage and lead a high performing team with a strong sense for considering customer needs, incorporating company goals, and creating an experience able to inspire usage and motivate completion of the online purchasing process.

4. Bring a strong point and validated of view about (online) merchandising that includes product selection and presentation, bundling and go-together items, full price and discount pricing with equally strong financial accountability for decisions.

5. Marry an expertise of traditional sales approach with a creative and non-traditional approach to interactive marketing so as to successfully attract and retain customers from the demographic (and technographic) spectrum of seniors to echo boomers.

6. Must be able and confident to help set and be measured to performance goals for the ecommerce team.

7. Manage relationships with marketing representatives located in Cox systems and treats input as stakeholder data.

8. Ensure best practices across all ecommerce-related efforts and initiatives, and pushes the envelop to advance the online channel in a manner appropriate for Cox and the quality it demands for its customers.

9. Research and improve ecommerce to exceed customer needs and (if applicable) to exceed the needs of the demographic segments of focus.

10. Ensure 100% accuracy of content and adherence to brand and business objectives as well as to regulatory and privacy guidelines.

11. Understand the needs of internal and external customers, the business, and the competitive landscape. Translate this understanding into a vision and strategic plan for research and ecommerce design to meet the needs of the company.

12. Be a great people manager who can lead, inspire, and direct the activities of people within and outside the organization.

13. Ensure high performance by clearly defining team member responsibilities, empowering team members to fulfill their responsibilities and supporting their efforts to do so, tracking progress and providing feedback, and holding team members responsible for meeting agreed-upon goals.

14. Monitor e-business trends and advancements that will assist Cox in meeting its ecommerce business objectives.
Qualifications:
1.Must be passionate about understanding customer purchasing behavior and be able to translate those findings into meaningful, actionable and measurable insight.

2.Must be able to visualize the future of Coxs relationship with its customers within the online channel and execute strategies that lead the company consistently towards this vision.

3.Strong skills in strategy and planning, budgeting and P&L management, merchandising and marketing, and vendor selection and management.

4.Have or quickly gain a thorough understanding of the complexities of the sales and merchandizing of a 4-product, multi-tiered service offering and help smartly balance the need for customization with the complexities of applications and interfaces to create an optimal experience for both Cox and its customers and potential customers within the web channel.

5.5-7 years as a director / senior director with proven ability to build a sizable, scalable, profitable, ecommerce business.

6.Experience with and an understanding of best practices in ecommerce design and conventions, and well versed in ecommerce technologies including Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 approaches and methods, tools and techniques.

7.3 or more years experience with a multi-channel retailer.

8.Demonstrated ability to increase conversion rates and acquire new clients by utilizing tools such as search engine optimization, search engine marketing, email marketing, word-of-mouth marketing (direct or via agency), blogging or other new marketing vehicles.

9.Must possess a strategic, analytical mind-set as well as the ability to execute.

10.Proven leadership skills and people management skills derived from having direct responsibility for building and managing a cohesive, high-performing marketing team.

11.Ability to identify, communicate and inspire an organization around the next generation of ecommerce experience to dramatically grow the business, and be able to work through tough issues and overcome challenges while maintaining good relationships.

12.Candidate must have keen business acumen plus the ability to function as a senior strategist with key members of the executive management team.

13. 8 years experience in marketing, with several years experience in online marketing apart from knowledge of advertising, promotions and direct mail.

14. Significant B2C experience in online marketing, campaign development and management, customer acquisition and retention.

15. Proven track record in managing external relationships with partners and vendors.

16. Should have high energy and possess courage, creativity and perseverance.

17. Ability to work closely with a diverse group of individuals of various functional disciplines.

18. Proven experience in developing and executing successful programs/initiatives that support and drive business strategy.

19. Big-picture thinking and experience in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

20. Must possess excellent creative, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

21. BS/BA college degree required, MBA or MS desired.
