Job Description:
INFORMATION ARCHITECT

The Information Architect works with project management, editorial, design and technical project team members to define, document, and ensure appropriate implementation of online features and functionality. This position uses a customer-focused approach to ensure that business/editorial goals and technical requirements are met.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Work with editorial and design team members to develop exceptional site architectures that are both highly usable and supportive of business and editorial goals.
§ Create and maintain documentation including: site maps, wire frames, content hierarchies and taxonomies.
§ Design and evaluate interfaces utilizing user-centered design principles.
§ Work with design, editorial, and technology team members to gain consensus on the feasibility of proposed user interface designs.
§ Present interface ideas effectively to senior stakeholders.
SKILLS REQUIRED / EXPERIENCE
§ 3-5 years working as an information architect, interaction designer, or user interface designer in a web development environment.
§ Expert knowledge of content management systems, graphic design software, and flow chart software.
§ Extensive experience in taxonomy design and usability.
§ Understanding of current web development technologies and software applications, including but not limited to: html, css, xml, dynamic data delivery, and content management systems.
§ Deep understanding of user-centered interactive design philosophies and methodologies.
§ Superior communication skills including the ability to communicate the vision of the user experience and functionality to the team, negotiate divergent viewpoints, and build consensus.
§ Initiative, excellent judgment, independence, and solid problem solving skills.
§ Ability to function in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
