Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION:
Designs, installs, configures and manages complex Microsoft LANs, Wireless LANs, WANs, Sans, routers, servers, switches, phone system, VMWare VI software and workstations. Includes; Wireless & Wired LANs, WANs, VoiP, , antivirus, spam, firewalls, routers, servers, switches, workstations as well as physical security for I/T systems. Responsible for network security, antivirus, spam and patch management for workstations and firewalls. Creates and manages security policy and procedures for all systems. Determines, recommends, installs and manages network security software and hardware. Performs as backup to Network Administrator when Network Administrator not available. Possesses superior communication skills with ability to communicate succinctly and diplomatically. Must type a minimum of 40 WPM and possess a high degree of organization with superior writing and grammatical skills.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
• Promotes a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee
• Coordinates and communicates all security concerns with I/T Director
• Plans security changes with I/T director before performing
• Coordinates and communicates all work efforts with Network Administrator and notifes the Help Desk Manager of planned outages
• Recommends, tracks, implements and documents network security procedures, patches and upgrades on server change logs
• Responsible for discovery, design, installation, support and functionality of all LAN, WAN, Wireless, firewalls, antivirus, spam, workstation and Voip security solutions
• Responsible for ensuring physical security of technology in all Casino buildings (partial list includes but is not limited to; server room, Wireless/LAN, VoiP switch cabinets, workstations, FacOp, RV Park etc )
• Responsible for design and coordination with the Network Administrator on the setup and implementation of secure access control lists.
• Extensive experience with Windows 2000/2003 servers and Exchange 2000/2003/2007 administration
• Creates tracking logs and completes security changes and documentation in a timely manner
• Identifies, analyzes and documents long-range security requirements
• Knows the configuration and administration of managed switches
• Knows how to administer MS active directory, group policies, and possesses knowledge in creating and editing objects
• Knows how to configure Active Directory and LDAP to authenticate user credentials
• Reviews access security on internal applications to verify that unauthorized users are excluded
• Works with coordinates with the network administrator regarding security related changes to the network.
• Enters work estimates and progress into the IT Service Order System (SOS) to track all work done at the Casino
• Provides updates, status, and project completion information to IT Director and I/T Help Desk in a timely manner
• Recommends or performs proactive actions to prevent problems
• Performs all IT work using the IT SOS ‘To Do’ list working on highest priority first
• Logs time and enters detailed descriptions of work performed
• Takes direction from IT Director and performs work duties as assigned even if different from assigned ‘To Do’ list
• Refers direct client calls to I/T Help Desk for documentation and dispatching
• Accepts emergency calls for service outside normal work hours (M-F 8-5pm) and logs as an SOS Emergency
• Documents task in the SOS system and notifies IT Help Desk when changes affecting them are complete
• Creates, maintains and follows written documentation standards pertaining to operations, applications and network
• Builds, installs, troubleshoots and repairs PC’s, and servers as required to backup the Network Administrator or Help Desk
• Accepts dispatched SOS jobs, enters estimated hours for tasks, updates progress hours for tasks daily before leaving shift
• Interacts with vendors on security related issues
• Uses independent thinking to determine strategy for deploying security changes
• Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation
• Performs user training in use of new equipment and software or written procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

AUTHORITY & RESTRICTIONS (supervisory capacity, signatory ability, access to sensitive areas, gaming /tipping restrictions)

• Access to company administrative personal computer systems and programs.
• Access to telecommunications system.
• Access to highly sensitive information; confidentiality agreement required, C3 Gaming license required.
• No Gaming or Tip accepting in the Facility at any time.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):

• BA degree from a four year college
• Three years experience designing, implementing and managing security for complex TCP/IP networks
• Three years experience building and troubleshooting PC’s, servers and managed switching equipment
• Two years experience configuring, installing and implementing HP Procurve switches preferred
• Two years experience configuring, installing and implementing VMWare servers preferred
• Two years experience configuring, installing and implementing Mitel 3300 IP Phone systems preferred
• Two years experience configuring, installing and implementing IBM Director software preferred
• One year experience configuring and supporting Hewlett-Packard EVA Storage Arrays highly desirable
• Aristocrat Gaming, MICROS POS and OPERA server installation and setup experience highly desirable
• Extensive experience using TCP/IP protocol including routing, switching, subnets and VLANS
• Experience configuring, installing and troubleshooting DNS
• Extensive experience with Windows 2000/2003 servers and Exchange 2000/2003/2007 administration
• Experience tracking and reporting on network traffic and utilization
• Experience tracking and reporting on user network access and permissions
• Highly organized individual
• Superior knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• Extensive experience installing, troubleshooting and administering PC Windows 2000/XP operating systems
• Experience pluses; Solarwinds, Forefront, Airmagnet, Ingate, Sonicwall, Bit9, WinDSX, Belmanage, Symantec Antivirus and backup Enterprise edition, Hyena, DameWare, MXLogic, ComCash, Smartconnect
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies
